On Thursday, June 21st, 2001 a multi-story structure fire was dispatched in fire district 29. Upon initial crews' arrival, the home was fully
involved and large flames vented from the roof. Due to the size of the home and the amount of fire, an special call for extra
fire and rescue apparatus was dispatched, such as the Command Van, and Ladder 1; Chief Ray Alfred was also on scene. The fire
was determined to be caused by lightning as thunderstorms passed through the area. Fire and rescue crews remained on the scene
for several hours into the night.
