Miami- Dade Fire and Rescue fire fighters from the Aviation Division visited the JFRD Training Academy to take part in a unique day of
training. Crews made the several hundred mile journey to participate in the special burn. The "Burn Pit" is one of very few in the entire
state of Florida, and is an exellent tool in which to teach about various types and characteristics of fires. Crews spent about 5 hours
fighting fire and reviewing the traits and characteristics of fires from the massive pit. JFRD rescue unit 51 stood by in case of injury;
however none were reported.
